Sales Executive
Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close. Develop and implement agreed upon Sales Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the marketing area. Works within the organization for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the sales of web site development and business process management engagements to the agreed upon target market(s).
• Develop annual sales plan, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year.
• Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
• Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the acquisition of market share.
• Sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues.
• Develop and maintain a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking.
• Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
• Create and conduct effective proposal presentations that identify prospects business problems, the effects of the problems, and Vela’s solutions to their problems.
• Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
• Gather and submit detailed business information for pricing and presentation of solutions to identified prospects' business problems.
• Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.

This is a critical role that will be relied upon to direct our off shore development team, establish code requirements and ensure best practices and quality in our final web product. Candidate should have an in-depth understanding of web development in a Microsoft environment, be independent and self motivated with an entrepreneurial mind set.
Responsibilities:
• Based on requirements gathered by the project management team, assist in developing hourly estimates for technical project components.
• Accomplish code reviews to ensure integrity and best practice.
• Review web projects in order to recommend solutions; communicate same to the assigned development team.
• Train our offshore development team on coding standards and best practices.
• Ensure that projects are completed within budget and on time.
• Interact with our clients directly to gather technical project requirements.
• Maintain currency in technology advances and the competition with regard to best practices, business processes and procedures.
• Review new hardware and/or software products so as to provide input on buy vs. build recommendations.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of web application design and development and web infrastructure implementation.
• 3+ years of experience developing web sites in ASP and ASP.NET (VB.NET or C#). Strong ASP.NET 2.0 experience is required.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing relational databases using SQL Server 2000/2005.
• MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) certification is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in the following applications: Visual Studio 2005, Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, IIS 6, and source control software.
• Excellent knowledge of current web development practices and procedures.
• Experience with web development technologies, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, XSLT, and Web Services.
• Experience with database development technologies, including but not limited to stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, and full-text indexing.
• Experience in the development and deployment of E-Commerce web-based applications.
• Experience in UML (Unified Modeling Language) and modeling tools such as Visio a plus.
• Ability to scope out next generation web technologies and trends with a goal of keeping the company on pace with technical advancements in the field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
